Tips For Petite Fashionistas

There are certain things that can be changed about our bodies if we are unhappy with them. We can get a haircut, or change our makeup. We can dye our hair or even change the color of our eyes with colored contacts. We can even exercise to add muscle tone to our bodies. But the only thing we cannot change is our height. Until we can find a way to safely elongate our limbs naturally, we can rely on a few fashion tricks to help us add a few inches of height.
First, improve your posture. Standing up straight and refusing to slouch while standing or sitting can make you look taller instantly. Not only that, but it can help give you a boost of self confidence.
Next, increase your height by wearing heels. However, if you are short and have been all your life, you and the people around you already know that. There is no need to go crazy and wear four inch heels all the time. Your posture, knees, toes, and back will all suffer for it. Instead, opt for one to two inch heels. Nude or flesh colored shoes also give an elongating effect. If you wear flats, remember that pointy toed shoes elongate the leg line. Save the four inch heels for special occasions, preferably fancy dinners where you will be sitting down most of the time.

Wear black. Not only does it make you look slimmer, but it also makes you look taller. The uninterrupted lines of color gives the look of length. On the same note, wearing all one color gives the same illusion. Just keep each piece tailored and properly fitted to your body.
Wear a top knot and add instant height. Just don't go overboard with a huge bun. A cute messy bun up to two inches tall is extremely cute. Or for a less extreme hairstyle, try adding height with a bit of teasing. On the flip side, a shorter cut that shows off your neckline makes you look taller. Long hair draws attention down, which makes you look shorter.
Keep your accessories in proportion to your body. Delicate earrings and bracelets, slim scarves and small purses look better on shorter girls. Oversized pieces like gigantic totes not only make you look short, but they cause the eye to add width to whatever it is looking at, decreasing the amount of height your eyes register.
